The formation of SAAEDT (South Africa Association of Equine Dental Technicians) is now well underway. The constitution has been drafted and the following representatives, thus far, have been appointed at regional meetings to carry the process forward further

Kwa-Zulu Natal Graeme Martin, Steve Clarke and Abri Snyders
The primary aims of the SAAEDT are to:
- improve the overall standard of equine dentistry
- promote the understanding and benefits of equine dental care
- serve as a communication channel for those inside the industry and as spokespersons for those outside the industry
- develop mutually beneficial relationships with associations within the equine dental field and the wider national and international equine industry
- work in conjunction and co-operation with members of the veterinary profession
- develop a graded accreditation scheme for equine dental practitioners
- provide sources of training and continuing professional development for all within the industry
- achieve recognition as a para-veterinary group
